Lauren Alcantara is an Australian artist working from her studio in the Yass Valley, New South Wales.

 

Lauren primarily works in illustration, painting and printmaking with a focus on bold, layered patterns, shapes and colours.

 

Lauren is inspired by both the natural and industrial world around her whether it's from memories of her childhood growing up in rural Western Australia or from her travels.

 

Lauren seeks to emulate dynamic and light hearted curiosity in her work while becoming more comfortable with imperfection.

 

Lauren has a BA Graphic Design and a MA Public Policy and started her career as a graphic designer before spending nearly two decades in public policy and administration.
